Since Juli was a coliky baby, we had to try anything and everthing to try to find a solution. Even though in the end we discovered that Colic is not from formula or bottles being used, but actually, in my opinion, it comes from the baby's inability to comfort themselves. In the end we tried around 6 defferent bottles to find the best fit. Below is my personal review and you will also find how many rattles I give each one.
Evenflo Ventaire Narrow 9oz - 4 Rattles.
I actually really like this bottle. Yes there are 6 parts to this bottle which to some may seem a little excessive. Of course I am counting the bottle lid, the nipple, nipple ring, the bottle itself, the vent & the bottom vent cap. Overall this bottle worked well for my 6lb baby as a newborn and as a 6mo old. The only reason this bottle does not get 5 rattles is because some of the bottles started leaking from the vent areas even though they were still new at the time.
Playtex Premium- Drop ins & sterilized Disposable Liners- 4oz & 8oz with both Latex and Silicon nipple - 3.5 Rattles.
This bottle performed well, the only thing I did not like is that after you push out all the air, you have to place the lid back on the bottle with lightspeed as the air starts filling it up again. I dont know if maybe I was using the bottle wrong, but I remember back in the day when you would take out the air, it would stay out. There were also times where I would be pushing out the air and the drop in would somehow come off on one side and milk got spilled everywhere. Also, my baby preferred the Laxtex nipple to the Silicon nipple, so I had to purchase them seperately. I liked using the old school disposable liners better than the drop ins.
